The Great Unhealed
and a lesson from Steinbeck. The answer, of course, is love. Not soft and gentle in this case, but powerful with strong boundaries and unwavering intention.
I don’t usually read or view violence, but I was drawn to this - a second hand text touting a 30c price tag, and written by one of my very favorite authors.
‘Damn it , Jim, you can only build a violent thing with violence.’
‘I don’t believe that,’ Jim said. ‘All great things have violent beginnings.’
‘There aren’t any beginnings,’ Burton said. ‘Nor any ends. It seems to me that man has engaged in a blind and fearful struggle out of a past he can’t remember, into a future he can’t foresee nor understand. And man has met and defeated every obstacle, every enemy except one. He cannot win over himself. How mankind hates itself.’
‘We don’t hate ourselves, we hate the invested capital that keeps us down.’
‘The other side is made of men, Jim, men like you…’
Extract from John Steinbeck’s, ‘In Dubious Battle’.
Written in 1936, it struck me how poignant Steinbeck’s insight into the human illusion was.
When has violence ever truly brought about a long-term peaceful resolution?
We could apply the fictitious Burton’s explanation to energy too. The ‘other’, dark and unhealed, is also made of energy, energy like us.
The past week has brought many experiences and examples of the unhealed energy that simmers below violence. Have you felt it too?
Demonics have made their presence known since the psychic attack. More so than ever before. While I would normally move into healer mode, I recognise that this is different. It is part of a distraction, aimed to divert my attention from a much needed rest period.
More will follow on this, suffice to say, we are seeing the duality of light and dark more readily at the moment. Two channels - one our true connection to Source and the second, a mirror image, designed to look like a Source connection but one that acts as a divergence or distraction. Please remember that we exist in duality, therefore the ‘other’ is always us.
Having chosen not to focus on the distraction, I was able to go within and address what really required my attention. What follows is a brief recount of an encounter during meditation and how it was healed. The answer, of course, is love. Not soft and gentle in this case, but powerful with strong boundaries and unwavering intention.
Going Within
Having connected first by turning the third eye inward, I discovered a red ‘mask’ awaiting in an outer channel.
(I say ‘mask’ because anger and hatred is never who we are in any form. This is always the mask for the fear or discord created by a wound that lies below.)
This was followed by the tranquility of a starry sky, lizard tails leaving my view, and another raging ‘mask’. The final vision was another red mask occupying a seat in my Heart Space. The first was dealt with through conversation and love. It had forgotten that it too was a reflection of All that Is. Willing, it returned to Source. The lizards were encapsulated in a ball of light and also returned. The third was a different matter altogether. The roar of vitriol held such violence and force its hatred vibrated through every part of my physical being in a way I have never felt before. I could see myself dressed as a light warrior facing a beast much like ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ where she encounters the Jabberwocky.
Apply with Love
Occasionally, when we work with energy, there is nothing to salvage in its present form. The wound can be so great there is no negotiating, no ability to create awareness of All as One. This was the case here. Drawing a sword of love, this damaged energy was transformed to sparks of light and guided back to Source.
As a healer and a witness, the pain underneath the violence almost takes my breath away. Grounding, remembering we each have a role to play, and the absolute correctness of ‘in Divine Timing’ helps me to hold balance.
I am not encouraging you to seek this energy. But if, like me, it comes into your awareness, remember that it is only energy. Have no fear, turn away from building more violence with violence, and release with the Divine energy of love if you can or seek support. We are not here to do the ‘work’ entirely on our own.
How did I know all was clear? When I returned to my Heart Space, all was returned to the normal lightness of being.
So what do we seek? More disharmony? Or peace, compassion and kindness. There is no right or wrong. Discord is the culmination of experiences that reflect where individuals and Mass Consciousness sit at this moment in time.
Every experience is an invitation to choose something better.
I won’t spoil the ending to ‘In Dubious Battle’ - but Burton was right.
