Fear of the Lord
Wait, what?! Isn't God love? And isn't fear one of the lowest vibrations? Where did we agree to suffering and self-punishment in the name of another?
Driving home recently, I noticed the licence plate of the car in front of me: Job 28:28 and it left me pondering the meaning of the passage.
Job 28:28 [King James Version]
28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
Why would we want to fear All that Is?
And who is labeling misunderstanding as ‘evil’?
If we are one, is it not ourselves then that we fear?
Job was standing fully in his fear driven Ego when this was written and well he might. According to the Book of Job, God seeks Satan’s opinion to affirm Job’s devotion. Satan suggests that Job is pious because he believes God is responsible for his happiness and if all was taken away, he would turn from God. It is recorded that God rises to Satan’s challenge and strips Job of his children, his wealth and all comforts until finally Job demands answers of God. It ends with Job retracting, saying he is merely mortal and God’s actions are "things beyond me which I did not know".
Manipulation and Illusion
Even as an analogy, this is problematic. The scenario of God ‘testing’ His children to prove Satan wrong sounds very Egoic and unbalanced. The use of fear and ‘evil’ are manipulative devices designed to create separation when we know separation is an illusion. Further, competition is not who we are, and we are not in the physical to be ‘tested’ by some outside force to ensure submission.
If All are One - and we are, as energy cannot be separated- then Satan, God and Job are One.
Perhaps the writer/s of Job have interpreted a message to fit the budding institution known as religion?
Conditioned to feel Powerless
We have been conditioned to believe that the control of our own lives sits externally, that life is ‘happening to us’ through fate, others’ decisions or influences, or an omnipotent God watching and punishing us for poor choices.
Many are coming to understand that this is not correct and empty churches attest to it.
As we clear these thought patterns and apply our Freewill for our Highest Good, we step into our own Divine power. Our power as unlimited beings in physical form.
Our low vibration thoughts and feelings are powerful indeed: what we think we create: fear, limitations, and even the deities we worship.
Perhaps then, the greater question is, can we accept that all is God - you, me, all that is? And can we forgive and apply unconditional love to all aspects of ourselves: Satan and God (both forms of ourselves), to unhealed entities, our ancestors, and even ourselves for thinking such pain and suffering into creation?
To choose unconditional love with Freewill repairs all
The Divine purpose of Source has always been to know itself: the ‘good’, the ‘bad’, the indifferent. This is the function of duality found in the big bang, the energetic split between light and dark, the ascended and fallen angels and their associated lineages.
To know ourselves and to experience the full range of human emotions has always been at the top of the Source agenda. This is why we have had many lifetimes with various roles - the victim, the perpetrator, those with wealth, to suffer poverty, to feel disconnection, to remember connection, to experience and to choose unconditional love from Freewill… This cycle has continued for lifetimes, eons even. It has unleashed great imbalances and heinous behaviours; it has provoked great acts of courage and selflessness. How much more is needed to fill the experiential cup?
No more is needed.
There remain rogue energies who feed on the discord of Earth and who would like it to continue for their imbalanced gain. Why? Our cycle of low vibration choices supports them.
When we understand we are simply a part of this experiential energetic ‘soup’ we can stop focusing on the distraction of self-punishment and get on with our purpose. As Louise Hay so succintly put, “If you believe you did something wrong then you are going to punish yourself. Each experience is a valuable stepping stone. Love yourself for your willingness to learn and grow.”
Change ourselves and everything changes.
Have we had enough experiences of suffering and imbalance?
Can we now choose unconditional love and bind the duality, returning to a united whole?
We can. Understanding grows tolerance and compassion. Tolerance and compassion grow unconditional love. Unconditional love grows peace. Refuse it to be otherwise.
And so it is.
A Reminder
Unconditional love does not mean relinquishing boundaries. We can love someone as an energetic fragment having a physical experience to attain enlightenment, healing and so on, without continuing to engage in their wound.
Healing our triggers, wounds and reactions to the human experience frees us from low vibration emotions of blame and condemnation, to name two.
And then we are free.

I’ve had to do much ‘unlearning’ as an adult after being bought up in a religious family. This writing so succinctly explains the misunderstanding and misguided beliefs that are at the foundation of religion. Releasing these untruths is a process but a journey that has been truly liberating for me.
Blessings to you Michelle 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for this writing. And so well said about it being a very ‘egoic’ approach of God to respond to Satan in that way. The book of Job has always really bothered me. It’s really helpful to view through the lens you’ve written.
