Releasing Ancestral Patterns (& Food Addiction) - Week 6

We talk about this a lot. But how do we actually do it? This week’s offering in Releasing Anxiety holds several strategies to create state changes that reclaim our wholeness and Sovereignty. The bonus Daily Ritual Card at the bottom of this article will help support change.
You are not broken - you are the alchemist of your bloodline. The repetitive emotional suppression and symptoms such as binge eating and other addictions are not signs of failure, but invitations. Like anxiety, these symptoms are rising into our awareness as they must. Sacred echoes calling for your presence, your unique spiritual medicine.

Reflection - Week 5
Before we go further, let’s revise Week 5
Rejection feels real to the Ego, which builds identity around fear, separation, and limiting beliefs from ancestral trauma and childhood conditioning. These patterns—like life being a struggle or needing others’ approval—keep us stuck and disconnected from our true, Sovereign selves. By bringing awareness to these programs and choosing beliefs aligned with love and truth, we reclaim our power and move toward healing, authenticity, and inner freedom.

Physical Pain Point: A Portal, Not a Problem
The pain point, the nagging discomfort you carry in your body is where you’re holding emotional burden inherited from the feminine lineage. Your body is carrying what wasn’t spoken, held, or grieved - especially from your mother and her mother before her. It is time for Ancestral Restoration when you choose it.
🕊️ Energetic intention:
“I am not the keeper of unspoken sorrow. I lovingly return what is not mine, with gratitude and release.”
🌀 Sacred Practice: Each morning, place your hand gently over your pain point and say:
“You are free now. Thank you for holding so much. I release you from what you were never meant to carry.”
Use slow, circular breath into the pain point*. Movement or stretching is secondary to presence and permission to release.
*Always see your doctor as needed, and then address the metaphysical.
Ancestral Prayer - Food Addiction
We could use any number of addictions for this exercise, but let’s use food as an example of a symptom soother because it sits in my ancestral background. Overeating and other imbalances around food are a way we cope when deeper needs go unmet. This isn’t just about bingeing or overeating or the complete opposite - purging or restricting; addictions are never that simple. They are often rooted in emotional survival, especially when we had no words for our pain.
The many reasons we abuse our physical body come from a belief in not deserving to nourish ourselves mind, body, spirit. It doesn’t matter whether deprivation or excess.
Some will say food is their ‘love language’ - if this is you, I invite you to go deeper and see what sits under it. If it replaces the spoken, read on.
When we aren’t yet able to understand or resolve what’s happening inside, we instinctively create ways to survive. Turning to food for solace or control can become one of those patterns and thank Goddess we found something that helped us make it through.
If you’ve used food to speak when your voice was silenced, to comfort yourself when no one else could - honor that. It was your way of surviving. Be grateful you found a way to manage your pain.
But now you are the one who gets to mother yourself, treating yourself like the Divine sacred child you are. And the food, once a tool for self-soothing and suppression, becomes a sacred offering.
🌀 Practice before eating:
“This food / drink is no longer my hiding place. It is my prayer. May it feed the parts of me that are still learning to feel.”
Trust that every urge carries a message. Not shame but information. Pause gently, and ask:
“What am I afraid will rise if I don’t eat / drink this?”
Forgiveness as Soul Freedom (Not as Denial)
Strip the illusion, dear one. Every person in our life is the audience for our very own stage performance where we take the leading role. This life was written by you, for you. We can move to forgiveness when we remember.
You know others did their best, no matter what that looked like - because we all do. You know your parents’ trauma (and strengths) reach back to their parents, and their parents before them.
And still, your inner child was left holding unmet needs. Your journey isn’t about blaming - it’s about letting go, with or without forgetting. Learning to apply the unconditional love they could not IS forgiveness and the freedom you need to move on.

🌀 Sacred Breath Forgiveness Practice:
Sit in quiet stillness. Visualise your parents before you, as children themselves. See the lineage of fear and lack behind them.
Breathe into your heart or pain point where you feel tension in your body. Imagine golden, healing light flowing within in your in-breath and say, on the out-breath:
“I see you. I love you, and I set you free. I no longer need to carry your pain. I honor your humanity and choose my sovereignty.”
Then bless yourself:
“I am the one who breaks the chain with love. I am the one who ends the silence. I offer myself freedom.”
Ancestral Lineage Healing: The Line Ends Here, With Grace
If, like me, you have chosen to incarnate in a line where emotional blockage has been survival know this is your work and that it is time to end it. We are each taking steps in our right timing to heal trauma through awareness:
understanding its purpose and why it arose,
that you are not it
and finding forgiveness - for those we chose to create the wound and for ourselves for incarnating in this lifetime with this particular set of inherited traumas.
With this awareness, the cycle is complete. The work you're doing ripples backward and forward in time to ancestors past and those yet to come.
🌀 Simple Ancestral Invocation:
“To all those in my bloodline who carried pain instead of speaking it -
I see you. I forgive you. I transform this story.
May your souls be free as mine returns to wholeness.Thank you Ancestral Guardians for guiding this energy home.”
Light a candle as you speak these words. You may feel emotions rising - allow them. They are releasing through you.

This work is not just healing you - it is shifting a lineage.
Where there was silence, you bring voice.
Where there was suppression, you bring breath.
Where there was bingeing, numbing and self-punishment, you bring sacred nourishment.
And as you heal, all are healed.
