Postcards from Mother Nature
A visual ode to the Blue Mountains and the power of nature. Sky, waterfalls, trees, creatures... It doesn't matter where we get out nature fix, only that we get it!
Thundering rains the night before, and then two days that followed - Divine! Join me in the magical Blue Mountains for a weekend of resetting, an interview, and so much food for metaphysical thought that I am still pondering the meaning ( and will share an alien/galacterians update soon).
Encouraged by the sunshine I got out bed and searched for a short hike to begin the day. The first location below was lit with the early morning sunshine and the Australian bush called out its thanks for the gift of water. More of a cacophony, to be honest!
Where is your nature ‘go to’? Share with a photo in the comments!
Moving on, I came to a plateau, where the colours of the foliage lightened and the glittering rain drops were mesmerising- each leaf looked like it glistened with diamonds. It is difficult to focus on anything else when there is so much to absorb, and that is the gift of nature.
Enjoy the sweep of the view with me in the short clip below.
After spending a couple of hours in the good company of local artist, Livonne Larkins - see the interview in the podcast ‘And She Chose to Live On’
- I returned to the ridges for quiet contemplation and the peace within the majesty of the landscape. I love the shades of green, the blue, blue sky and crisp white clouds above the afternoon shadows.
A late afternoon stop at Katoomba waterfall finished off the day. There is something about the sound of water falling that resonates through the body and, even though the temperature started to drop, it was easy to stay.
Sunday also began with an early trip to a lookout to catch the sunrise. The wind howled from the North and to my wonder, the cloud bank rose from the horizon with the sun for more than an hour before dissipating. As the sun battled to appear it bathed the basin in an almost surreal pastel palette.
One other person joined us for a time. Soon after they left, the most beautiful rainbow coloured light appeared in the West, as East and West reflected the light back to each other.
A few messages have come in around this and I am sitting with it a little longer before I share with you!
The stillness, the deep breath, the inner peace.
I love it for me and I wish it for you.
I hope some of your upcoming weekend is spent in the company of Mother Nature too.
Blessings
