Pantheism - Nature as Religion
When I disappear from Social Media for a few days or a blessed week, it looks like this! Join me in three of my most treasured locations filled with trees, sky, lake, ocean, hills and creeks.
Watching the sun lift over the edge of the horizon is a special kind of magic, often solo and sometimes shared with others who also rate is as their favourite time of day.
Each has its own story…
The first was on 17* March, the first day my neice was 17 and 17 cockatoos captured my attention to deliver her a message. This was taken at the beginning of the hike as the cockatoos, magpies and crows gathered, screeching, warbling and cawing as they approached. Fearless, they observed me stopped in my tracks, observing them. Their patience won and eventually I moved on, heading down to the lake.
* 1717 meanings - new beginnings, spend time with loved ones, be bold and independent.
Pondering their behaviour, I moved through the early morning currents, warmer where the landscape protected the air and shockingly cooler in places, reminding me that we are now in autumn.
Morning rituals complete, I return to the beginning, making my way through the damp, sweet smelling grass. Rounding the corner, the sunrise lifting fully captures my attention. Coming to a halt for the second time this morning, the light is mesmerising.
Only as morning sunrise can, it quickly lifts from the surface displaying an obvious bridge between heaven and earth that grows clearer by the moment. When I soften my gaze I envision light beings stepping from the sun. I wonder if you notice too? The feeling that floods through the body in moments like these is similar to the intense feeling of connection that comes with deep meditation. Joy!

Finally, I move once more, wondering if any of the cockatoos will still be there after a 40 minute break.
And here they are!
An early jogger stops with me for a time and then moves on, but the messengers stay, holding my gaze. The first in the image is bold. He (?) hops from the post and walks around my feet. I dare not move, but I also wonder if I am about to be nipped. I am not. Inspection finished, he waddles and bobs his way back and lifts to reclaim his perch.
The weather worn elder - third on the post from the left - also captures my attention, missing many feathers and yet still holding its own. I receive the message, send the elder energy and move on with my day, giving thanks to the universe and Mother Earth for such a glorious morning.
While I am drawn to trees, the lake, and its various bird life, I also love the ocean. There is healing in her waters, and the unending ebb and flow reminds us that this pattern too applies to life. I sit in the sand, sink my hands and feet into her warmth and imagine roots growing deeply into her core. Connected, I ask for Mother Earth’s healing and watch the sunrise with gratitude. Risen, and as others begin to populate the shoreline, I make my way to the water and stand knee-deep.
“I release all that no longer serves and ask it be transmuted to love and washed away.”
What a stunning start to the day.

A morning is a gift but a weekend in nature where reception is sketchy is pure bliss! I think of it as an energetic reset.
Wandering along dirt roads fringed by green grass always brings about the nostalgia of early childhood. I recently had someone reveal they never allowed company on their early morning walks and I understood completely.
Time spent in nature reconnects us to ourselves, to the earth we are part of, and creates mental space to move beyond our thoughts and into our inner knowing.
Mother Earth has long been recognised for her ability to ground and heal our energy.
Find a rock, a patch of earth, or meadow. Quietly place your hands on Mother Earth, begin to slow the breath, and synchronise with her tempo, her heartbeat. We are each working towards managing our vibration as we energetically ascend - allow her to help.

If you wish to know the divine, feel the wind on your face and the warm sun on your hand. —Buddha
Leaving these divine spaces without regret is only ever possible with the knowledge that I will return.
Blessings
