Generally, we are encouraged to only be present. When the situation feels overwhelming, however, or you feel life is not moving quickly enough in the direction you wish to go, it can be helpful to take a backwards glance.
To notice and appreciate just how far you have come.
What would the version of yourself five years ago, ten years ago, or twenty years ago think about the life you have created?
Consider all you have achieved, learnt, decided wasn’t for you, how change has forced you to move on, and come to accept with greater wisdom. Now imagine are looking at the significant tool kit you have developed along the way: the ability to resolve difficulties, to outwait them when required, to seek support when needed, the trust that things are always working out.
Look at what you have created with new eyes, as an observer of your own life.
The joys,
the comforts,
the beingness,
any discomfort asking for acceptance,
and where is the gratitude for the dreams and endeavours that did not come to fruition?
How have new directions created new learnings?
How did you arrive at this moment?
And what is the message from the backward’s view?
Blessings, dear ones
